Well, I am a member or the Public Relations Committee for the Jacksonville Board of Realtors. I questioned the amount of monies raised last year and asked what events we tried to raise money and awareness with for local and statewide charities. I asked if we had an annual golf tournament. Now we do. I am the chairperson for the 1st Annual Jacksonville Board of Realtors Charity Golf Classic. It appears as if this is going to be a great event. Hooters is sponsoring the beverage carts and providing lunch on Saturday April 12, 2008 at the actual golf tournament. National Dodge is providing a new car for the Hole-In-One contest. Local sponsors are emerging at various levels. We are having a Captains Meeting and Calcutta Team Auction Friday night before the tournament at Jacksonville Country Club. After the tournament we will have an awards banquet at the Country Club to acknowledge our sponsors, tally up the proceeds and announce the winners of the event, hole accolades and side bets. We are helping Christmas Cheer, habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life and NC Homes to name a few.
